Colorado Mentoring Symposium Brings Together 275+ Mentoring Leaders

Serve Colorado and the Youth Mentoring Collaborative hosted the first Colorado Mentoring Symposium on Friday, April 20.

Over 275 mentoring leaders from throughout the state gathered for a day of cutting edge presenters and facilitated discussions. Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia's opening remarks focused on the role of mentoring and education in closing the achievement gap, a continued reality in Colorado although progress is being made.  Keynote speaker, Dr. Susan Weinberger (aka Dr. Mentor), shared her mentoring expertise in her presentation of "Mentoring: An Idea whose Time Has Come" and led Executive Staff participants in a discussion exploring the creation of a Colorado Mentoring Partnership.

CiviCore was honored to share in the productive day. We are excited for the continued forward movement of the state's mentoring leaders and partner organizations in promoting mentoring to serve Colorado's youth.
